Altaro server connection fail

A client’s offsite backup failed, and the only error is “failed to retrieve full error details for server”

client machine says “connection with altaro service is not stable”

Do a manual local backup
(to do not have wait until the next schedule, and try the whole process
because it might be possible that the offsite was stuck at some point yesterday and could not retrieve the information of the local one
basically the offsite copies, are just a mirror of the local ones, and read from these ones, and write data to the offsite lcoation)
then go to CMC and manually do offsite

On the Offsite Server , and all the Altaro Installation plus the Host that have Altaro installed:

Open powershell as administrator

Type the following powershell:

W32tm /resync /force

Servers are very time sensitive , and even a millisecond could be the reason

if time service not started >>CMD<<
net start w32tm
may have to reboot

– Click Start.
– Type time.
– Click Date and Time on the list.
– Make sure that the time zone is correctly set for the place where you live.
– Click the Internet Time tab.
– Make sure that you can see “This computer is set to automatically sync…” if not
Click the Change Settings button.
Click the checkbox Sync with an Internet…
I recommend to use time.windows.com as your server.
Click the Update now button. If you get a message that the clock could not sync, try again or don’t worry. It eventually sync later.
Click OK twice.

(more notes in google drive)

changed regedit w32time parms type to NTP

(regedit / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Services / w32tm / params)

changed Type to NTP and NtpServer from “peerlist” to time.windows.com,0x9

services.msc / windows time automatic

gpedit.msc / change 5 “time” services to “not configured”
